Our HFSP project is aimed at understanding common mechanisms in amphibious locomotor control. In support of this goal, We have investigated how the kinematics and muscle activity of Polypterus senegalus changes in a variety of environments (e.g. high viscosity, different levels of emersion). The goal now is to tease apart different sources of sensory information that likely contribute to the changes in behaviour that we have observed thus far.
